This morning the pound US dollar exchange rate slipped following disappointing British data, and is currently trading at a rate of $1.301. The release of January’s Markit Services PMI for the UK fell to a lower-than-expected 50.1 from the previous 51.2, showing that growth in the UK’s dominant service industry had slowed.
